What’s inside: Join Our 7 Days Self-Care Challenge And Spend 5-15 Minutes A Day On Yourself!

If you’re anything like me, you want to be the best mom you possible can be. You probably also want to be a loving partner. A supporting friend. A present daughter. And a dedicated citizen in your community.

The list goes on and on.

We all want to be there for everyone we know and to be the best version of ourselves.  But in order to do so, you need to put yourself first.

There’s a reason why the flight attendant asks you to put on your oxygen mask before helping your travel companions. In order to be able to help someone else, you need to take care of yourself first.

Balance is the key to feeling healthy, looking great, and living a joyful life. But it’s easier said than done, right?

You’re a busy mom and you don’t have time to go to the gym or get a manicure every week. To be completely honest, do you even have time to shower every day? Because I know I don’t.

7  Day Self-Care Challenge

Self-care should be a priority to every woman. And if you’re a tired mom, you need to make self-care a priority more than anyone else. Jumpstart your new self-care routine with this 7-day challenge and dedicate 5-15 minutes a day to just yourself.

Day 1 – Let’s Get That Body Moving

No one has time to go to the gym anymore. Especially not busy moms. If you are able to get away to the Fitness Studio or the Booty Bootcamp, then go for it! Otherwise, you can spend 5-15 minutes doing:

  • Yoga at home
  • Go for a run
  • Anything that makes you sweat

Day 2 – Feed Your Body

Eating well makes you feel good. And I don’t mean that you should take out the Rocky Road or take a drive to get a Big Mac. Healthy, high-quality food and beverages will nourish your body and make you feel fantastic. Spend a few minutes today and:

  • Make sure to drink 10 glasses of water
  • Drink a healthy smoothie
  • Plan next week’s dinners and remember to include lots of vegetables

Day 3 – Unplug, Unplug, Unplug

I’m sorry for repeating myself but I know that this is especially difficult for most people. We seem to have our phones glued to our hands these days, and most of the time we’re not even doing something productive on them. We’re mostly just scrolling, scrolling, and scrolling. When you’re at home today, turn off notifications and:

  • Read a book
  • Meditate
  • Complete a crossword

Day 4 – Make A Pretty Space

Spend 10 minutes decluttering and clear off as many surfaces as you can in the room of your house where you spend the most time. A messy home can stress you out and when you can’t see the mess anymore, it will be easier for you to relax. When you’re done straighten up:

  • Add some fresh flowers to the room
  • Light candles
  • Add something new to the room

Day 5 – Write A Journal

Writing journals are not just for teenage girls who like to doodle “I heart Justin Bieber” (Is he even still the hottest guy according to teenage girls? Gosh, I feel old…). Writing can reduce stress and anxiety so write down your goals, feelings, or whatever you feel like writing.

  • Write down your favorite part of the day
  • Create a bullet journal
  • Draw or paint something

Day 6 – Say No To Everything

As a mom, you’re always taking care of everyone else and making sure their need is being met. Today is the day when you’re going to stop doing what everyone expects from you and spend the day doing whatever you want.

  • Listen to your favorite music
  • Take a nap
  • Do absolute nothing

Day 7 – Make Yourself Sparkle

I hope you’ve had a great week and that you’ve had some amazing “me-time”. Get ready for next week and all the chaos, surprises and opportunities it will bring with it by pampering yourself. Give yourself the attention you deserve by:

  • Painting your nails
  • Have a mini-spa at home
  • Get a massage from your partner
